Last night during House Farm Workers! @housefarmwo Last night during House Farm Workers! @housefarmworkers monthly youth group meeting, we took a walking field trip to Santa Clara St. and Palm St. to meet with RM Design architects and People’s Self-Help Housing @pshhc at an empty lot in Fillmore. One Step A La Vez @onestepalavez youth asked the presenters questions about what could be built there, what an architect is, who working-class housing helps, and what low-income housing means.

On the walk back, HFW! and One Step looked at existing mixed-used housing on Central Ave.

Once back at the center, the youth enjoyed pizza and drinks provided by People’s Self-Help Housing and discussed their opinions on the proposed housing.

Thank you all, for this educational experience!

Thank you as always to the One Step a la Vez staff for being so accommodating and continuing to invite us each month.
